THE PUFFY FACE EFFECT —

we all know her. whether this is something you struggle with often, or wake up with occasionally after some indulgence - here’s are a few tips to help combat a bloated face. A puffy face can be caused by a variety of factors, including fluid retention, allergies, lack of sleep, diet, high cortisol or even hormonal changes. Here are some remedies to help reduce facial puffiness:

• apply a cold compress or cryo ice facial tool. this will help constrict blood vessels and bring down swelling.

• hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. drinking enough water helps flush out excess salt and toxins, reducing fluid retention. aim for 10+ glasses of water a day.

• reduce salt and sugar intake. high salt and sugar intake can lead to water retention.

• reduce or eliminate alcohol and processed foods which cause dehydration and bloating, especially as we get older.

• catch those zzz’s. poor sleep/ sleep habits can lead to a puffy face in the morning. women need more sleep than men due to our hormones, 8 hours is the minimum, more if you can.
