(almost) FALL ROUTINE —

theres a lot to get excited about for the fall season, but as we transition and the weather inevitably changes, the way our skin reacts to the new temperatures change too. during the summer, there's often more humidity to help moisture stay in the skin and protect its barrier. in the cooler months, the air gets more dry both outside and inside with the operation of heaters. when skin starts losing moisture, the barrier can get disrupted, causing increased sensitivity, dryness, and irritation. let’s avoid all of that, shall we?

here’s how i recommend changing up your skincare routine for fall—it's crucial if we want to maintain healthy, happy skin all year round. Hyaluronic acids - this little powerhouse juicey molecule will provide your skin with hydration in the lowest layer of skin (the dermis) it will plump up the cells, and present moisture content for all skin. Even if you feel your skin is oily, but dry — that’s a good indicator that your skin is actually NOT dry, rather it is dehydrated, so give it a drink of HA. Lipids — whether these come from a golden oil, a balm or a super nourishing cream, lipids will provide oils that your skin needs for comfort and nourishment. These will absorb into the inner epidermal layer and help give your skin some dew. Also will add a protective layer to prevent epidermal water loss (we love this).

Exfoliating— most controlled and favorite method is chemical (acids, enzymes, retinols) we do this so our skin is in a constant state of rejuvenation, so that our products can absorb and work better, and so our so stays glowingly fresh. It is very easy to exfoliate too much and cause irritation, breakouts and dermatitis. There is key with balance that will yield results.

Treatments to consider — stay on top of Hydrafacials. They will keep your skin layers deeply cleaned out, balanced, hydrated and glowing. Just like going to the dentist, once your skin is cleaned out, it will slowly start to accumulate debris again - so staying on top of this and your prescribed homecare routine is important for longevity of healthy and clear barrier.
