The Glutton
if december was one of the seven deadly sins it would be GLUTTONY. I’m here to remind you that the choices you make with the abundance of delicious options available, will make or break your glow. a month of indulgences that stem from holiday festivities…can you blame us? no. can you limit the damage caused to your skin by understanding the worst offenders? absolutely. the right diet can help give our skin the building blocks it needs for optimal functioning but the wrong diet can actually promote inflammation and contribute to premature aging. your daily meal plan affects the body's largest organ (YOUR SKIN) and it’s important to understand which foods should be limited in order to maintain a flawless, healthy glow. while one individual food can't make or break your skin, the pattern of foods you put on your plate can support — or impair — your skin's health.
this is due to the components in food that have the capability to 'turn on' or 'turn off' certain gene expressions. we're talking about the genetic predispositions that make people more prone to things like acne, eczema or psoriasis aka inflammation in the skin. below is a non exhaustive list of what to consume w/ caution over the holidays (and all year if i’m being honest) —
•sugar
•dairy
•alcohol
•highly processed foods
•refined carbohydrates
•cured meat + red meat
If you want your skin to look it’s finest, be aware which of these can compromise that and avoid it as much as possible (or within reason…we must live…) 🤍
