Summertime Sadness

summer has come and gone in a blink of an eye - but has left behind the remnants of sunshine on our faces in the form of brown spots, redness and lacklustre skin? summertime sadness via UV rays can manifest on our skin like:

redness - it can be diffused redness and/or tiny thin veins around the nose and cheek area which can be caused by genetics or simply aging. however, the thinner the skin, the more these capillaries become visible (plus sun exposure + inflammation exasperates this)

brown spots — typical to find darker on areas of high sun exposure such as cheekbones and forehead. as our skin ages, our skin cells regenerate slower than our younger years, therefore pigmented skin is more visible because our melanin production is in overdrive.

lacklustre skin — sometimes we don't glow like we used to. ‘blah’ skin happens when your skin cells aren't renewing at a rapid rate. when they slow down, the dead skin cell build up is thicker and can dull your glow. adding antioxidants, retinols and exfoliants can help juju it up, so add these into your homecare routine! (we have some cool options from @layers.skincare skincare) BUT STRESS NOT - welcome fall aka IPL season! (intense pulse light) which can treat each of these effectively with visible improvement & results. the number of sessions required is case by case and determined after an in person skin assessment during your first session, generally 2-4 treatments will yield incredible results. offered as a stand alone treatment or check out our combo options ✨👏🏼
