I don’t want no Scrubs
Why can’t I scrub off my zits?!? This is a very counterproductive method of treating acne. It can cause inflammation, which over time can damage your skin's natural lipid barrier. You'd think that scrubbing your face would keep it clean enough that acne wouldn't be a problem, but doing it too much can have the opposite effect 🦠💥🙅🏻♀️ You may be the cause of your own acne. Facial scrubs are often too aggressive for blemished skin. Scrubs can be very harsh, especially on skin that is already inflamed due to acne breakouts. Exfoliation Is Highly Recommended for Acne-Prone Skin. It is a well-known fact that microscopic loose facial skin—which in essence is old skin—if left unattended the cells will trap toxins, dirt, and oils. These unhealthy 'deposits' will 'seep' back under the skin, clog up the pores, and cause blackheads, whiteheads, and acne. An ideal option for exfoliating the skin is with acids and enzymes. These are controlled methods that dissolve and remove the debris on the surface safely without the aggressive friction.
